Why PA Training?

As Europe’s leading provider of journalism, multimedia and PR training, we aim to deliver unrivalled expert-led courses across a wide range of disciplines to achieve positive outcomes for your business.

What are the course timings?

Most courses begin at 9:30 am and finish around 5:00 pm, depending on the pace of the day. Short breaks are included, along with a lunch break that usually lasts for an hour.

Where are your courses held?

Our courses are held at the Press Association head office in Central London, Victoria. We are just a short walk from Victoria station and London Underground (District, Circle and Victoria lines). Find us on Google maps here.

How big are the class sizes?

Our class sizes are capped at a maximum of eight delegates to ensure a quality learning experience for all participants. For bespoke or in-house training it may sometimes be possible to deliver courses to slightly larger groups.

Can I tailor the course content and objectives?

Bespoke courses give you the option of tailoring the course content to your exact needs. Our dedicated training advisers work with you prior to the course to ensure your requirements are matched.

Is Press Association Accredited in Journalism, PR and Communications?

Our journalism Diploma courses are accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists. Those high standards are reflected in our other courses.

Where can I find out more about the trainers?

During course enquiries for bespoke and in-house training, we can send you the trainer’s Curriculum Vitae. We make this available on request to provide a clear understanding of their professional background and expertise.

For all in-house courses, whenever possible we try to match a trainer to your specific needs, learning objectives and expected outcomes.

Do I need to prepare for my course?

No prior course preparation is needed unless advised beforehand. Computers will be provided for those courses that need them.

What preparation is needed for onsite courses?

If the course is arranged to be held at your premises, our training team will discuss with you what set-up will be required prior to the day.

Can you deliver training for just my team?

Yes, our trainers are highly experienced in working with mixed groups or a single team. Our in-house training option allows you to tailor the course content to your specific learning objectives, along with choosing your preferred location for training.

How long do your courses last?

Our courses are broken down into the following:

  • Open courses which are typically one or two days in length which can be booked securely online.
  • In-house or bespoke courses which typically last for one or two days. This option allows you to choose the duration. If you’re unsure at this stage, get in touch here and let us know what you’re interested in – we’ll be happy to help.
  • NCTJ are accredited courses for news, sport and magazine journalism, which run for 17 weeks (full-time) or 38 weeks (part-time).
Can you deliver training onsite at my offices?

Our workshop courses can also be delivered in-house at your preferred location. This can be arranged when speaking to one of our training advisors. Simply get in touch here and let us know what you’re looking for.

Who have you trained before?

Our delegates come from a range of different industry sectors, including major PR consultancies, the FTSE 100, popular high street brands and governing bodies. We’re also proud to be a trusted training provider for many charities, smaller independent businesses and freelancers.

On the day

What if I’m going to be late?

Please inform us on the morning if you are going to be late by calling our training team on 020 7963 7920. We can then let your trainer know.

Do I need to bring my own lunch?

Lunch is not provided but there are plenty of food options available in the local area, all of which are in walking distance of the Press Association office.

How long is the lunch break?

Our lunch break usually lasts for an hour which allows time to relax and take in everything you’ve learnt.

Is there anywhere I can store luggage at the training centre?

If you’re travelling, luggage can be stored in a secure location at the Press Association training centre.

Do you have any free wifi access at the training centre?

Wifi can be accessed throughout the building and is free for you to use during your course.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Can I cancel my course?

You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 15 days prior to the course date.

What is your cancellation policy?

The following refunds will apply if you cancel:

  • 15 days or more before the course = full refund
  • 0-14 days prior to the course = no refund

After the course

Will I be provided with course notes?

Course notes will be provided during the course and can also be provided digitally on request.

Will I receive a certificate after my course?

We can provide a Press Association certificate of attendance on request which is sent digitally. Great for your LinkedIn.
