PA Group People: Holly, Team Leader
The role of Team Leader is incredibly varied as it is my responsibility to ensure that the department runs smoothly, and this can mean anything from mentoring staff, proof-reading the team’s work, liaising with customers and producing content.
I have worked for the Press Association for three years in the Arts & Events department based in Howden, beginning as a Listings Producer and progressing to Team Leader in 2015. The team and I create a database of live event listings which feature our own house copy, supporting metadata and images. We also offer bespoke services for some customers including web-based page production and the variation in tasks means that no two days are the same.
My role calls for me to support and coach my team to ensure that they are able to carry out their own work with ease. I also have to respond to customer queries which can vary from amendment requests to data delivery concerns and be prepared for anything that they may need.
I enjoy the responsibility that comes with my role and have a great sense of pride when my team are happy and achieving their goals. PA has been incredibly supportive in my own development and I have taken part in the company’s own Team Leader Course to ensure that I am confident in my role and have the skills needed to lead my department.
