PA provides an unrivalled real-time data service for elections and referendums. Nominations data, results rushes, detailed results and statistics are delivered for polls ranging from UK general elections to Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly, Northern Ireland Assembly and London Assembly elections, and from council elections to mayoral and police commissioner elections. The key State of the Parties statistic gives a crucial, dynamic overview for each poll.
In 2017, PA’s elections data service covered the snap UK general election on 8th June and council and mayoral elections that took place on 4th May.
PA’s coverage included the full set of nominations for all constituencies pre-election, short news items for selected key constituencies during the election, results rushes, the full results and Combined State of Parties statistics.
Full council elections took place in 34 councils in England, including 27 county councils:
PA provided the outcome of each council poll summarised by party and indicated the number of seats that have change hands by party, as well as the new council line-up. A rush message was sent where the outcome involves a change of control for the council. The State of the Parties statistic provided an overview of seat and council control changes.
