Press Association launches weekly live blog for Blue Square
The Press Association has launched a live sports blog for interactive betting website, Blue Square. The Saturday Commentary blog, designed to drive user engagement for the Blue Square brand, integrates bespoke up-to-the-minute PA news content and images with embedded links to Blue Square’s betting opportunities around football and a range of other sporting events. The service also incorporates selected Twitter comments from sports fans. The blog appears live on Saturday afternoons and is now a regular feature following a short trial period.
The live blog, which uses ScribbleLive technology, is a recent development for the Press Association which has been exploring new and innovative ways of delivering content in recent years. Last year, PA developed a live blog to cover the tuition fees vote and ensuing protest in London for MSN which was one of their most popular one page features in that month..
The Press Association is currently developing a live blog service for the upcoming royal wedding, as well as offering a range of live blogging services for breaking news and planned events. The Royal Wedding blog will enable brands to integrate their own content with all the latest news, pictures and video of the big day on their websites.
