Press Association Sport appoints betting editor

Press Association Sport has appointed its first Betting Editor as the demand for tailored betting content continues to grow.

Tony Kelshaw has been Teletext Betting Editor for the last three years, building up a hugely popular service with punters and bookmakers alike.

With Teletext Sport now closing, Tony has now been tasked with transferring his skills into a wider market – and is ideally positioned to do so, given his excellent relationship with the bookmaking fraternity.

"A boom in sports betting, both in shops and more significantly on the Internet, has created a real need for accurate, informative and innovative sports betting content covering this specialised field,” said Tony.

"Press Association Sport has been at the forefront of developing data-based products to help both bookmakers and punters alike, with the new iCard technology on horse racing and football Match Centre developments leading the way.

"I will now be looking to make sure we match that progress from an editorial standpoint, with a host of projects in the pipeline - from short, snappy betting headline packages to feature-length previews of major matches and tournaments.”

Tony added: "There is no significant sporting event that Press Association Sport does not have a presence at or in-depth knowledge of and I will be tapping into those resources to bring a fresh, informed and sometimes fun approach to the betting world."
