Press Association Sport and Racing UK’s iCard shortlisted for the 2010 Sports Industry Awards
The iCard, an interactive race card that allows users to manipulate horse racing data to predict the final race outcome, has been officially shortlisted for the Technological Innovation in Sport Award at the 2010 Sports Industry Awards.
The iCard is powered by Press Association Sport’s detailed data and statistics, with live and archived video content provided by Racing UK. The iCard is a white label product that can be re-skinned to integrate into a client’s existing website, incorporating racing odds where required and combines a number of unique features including:
• In-depth statistical analysis
• Video form and race replay archive
• Latest news, betting and results
• Racecourse information
• Comprehensive database
• An innovative Predictor service
The Predictor service enables users to toggle four different form elements; win, place, going and jockey/trainer to see how each may affect the predicted race outcome. More than 40 different values are analysed by the Predictor for each horse, as well as more than 9,000 races for each prediction - providing a unique and innovative race experience.
Ian Campbell, Managing Director of Press Association Sport, said “Being shortlisted for this award is a great success for everyone involved in the development and promotion of the iCard over the last year. The application has created a great deal of interest within the industry and has already been snapped up by several of the major bookmakers, including Betfred, Blue Square and, 888 and Digibet.
“The development of online applications is a key part of our business and it is a great testament to everyone involved in this project to be recognised for their hard work and achievements.”
