Press Association’s Tony Watson to speak in outsourcing debate
Press Association Managing Director, Tony Watson, will be taking part in a debate on outsourcing of newspaper and magazine page production as part of the Publishing Expo at London Olympia this week.
In a session titled "Outsourcing: Better Price, Better Service – Worse Newspapers?" Tony will be speaking on the issues involved in outsourcing aspects of the production process.
The Press Association has been providing outsourced page production to the industry for 20 years and now creates 9,000 pages a week for more than 220 newspapers and magazines.
The debate will take place at 15.15 on Thursday February 12 in Theatre B (Print and Production Solutions) Other panelists include Roy Greenslade, Guardian and Evening Standard columnist; Robert Berkeley, Express KCS; Alastair Moxey, PF Publishing; and Martin Cloake, media consultant and production journalist.
Publishing Expo takes place on February 11- 12 and is the UK’s largest event for paper and online publishers. The event features 100 exhibitors and 40 seminar sessions with special focus on the national and regional newspaper publishing sectors. Entry to the event is free.
