Rousseau has worked as a political photographer for the Press Association for many years. He has captured both the press conferences and the more private moments of British politicians and this is demonstrated through his winning portfolio.

Martin Keene, Group Picture Editor at Press Association, said:

"We are immensely proud that Stefan’s work, in which he has captured some of the great moments of the political year, has been recognised by this most prestigious of journalism's awards. It is a tremendous endorsement of his energy and enthusiasm.”

The awards have celebrated the best of British journalism for over 30 years. "I’m very honoured to have my pictures recognised at such a high level” said Rousseau.

In addition to Rousseau’s prize this year, both John Giles and Gareth Copley were shortlisted in the Photographer of the Year category.
