Press Association offers a range of courses for communications professionals from a journalistic perspective. All our training take place at our London or Yorkshire HQ and involves practical exercises led by experienced members of the media.

Effective Communication through the Media

A two-day course covering all aspects of PR from sessions on press release writing and selling in feature ideas, to experiencing live broadcast interviews ‘in studio’, using online communications and planning a campaign. Delegates are given a unique opportunity to learn ‘from the horse’s mouth’ what journalists are looking for and how to marry that with the demands of a PR brief.

Developing a PR Strategy

This comprehensive course will give you a much greater understanding of how to effectively use the media to promote your business or organisation. It will give delegates a better grasp of the media landscape and address the key issues surrounding public relations including strategies, costs, campaign effectiveness and measurement. It will outline the many different types of public relations and identify the strengths and weaknesses of each one.

Media Training

The unique opportunity to learn and practice interview techniques at the UK’s news agency is ideal preparation for any organisation’s spokesperson. A Course Director is assigned to every brief to create bespoke content which ensures our training is as directly relevant and realistic as possible.

Effective Press Release Writing

Maximising the impact of press releases is crucial. The course will give delegates a better understanding of how the press works and tips on how to get your stories published. Using a lively mix of presentations, practical exercises, tutoring and discussion, delegates will come away with a range of tools to help them use the press more effectively.

How To Deal with the Press

This intensive course will give you a much greater understanding of how media organisations function, who the key decision makers are, and how editorial decisions that could affect your organisation are arrived at. By the end of the course you will understand what makes a story and how to create narratives that will be of interest to the media. You’ll be equipped with a range of tools and strategies to use the media to your advantage.
