Spector murder case: Mother settles

The mother of the actress Phil Spector was convicted of killing has settled her wrongful death suit against the Wall of Sound music producer, a lawyer said.

John Taylor told the Los Angeles Times the terms of the settlement were confidential, but his client, Donna Clarkson, was pleased and relieved the suit was over.

Lana Clarkson, 40, was shot dead in the foyer of Spector's Alhambra, California, mansion nine years ago.

Donna Clarkson attended the 2009 trial every day and testified that her daughter was upbeat and not at all suicidal, as Spector's defence claimed.

Spector was convicted of murder and is serving a 19 years-to-life sentence.

Mr Taylor says he signed off on the settlement.
