Armed robbers have stolen hundreds of thousands of pounds of jewellery from an elderly man during an attack in broad daylight.
The 68-year-old was said to have been left badly shaken as a result of the "disgraceful" assault in the Port Dundas area of Glasgow.
It is understood around £350,000 worth of goods was stolen.
The victim, who is believed to be a jeweller, was driving along Borron Street at around 4pm on Wednesday when he pulled over to make a phone call.
Strathclyde Police said two men, armed with blunt weapons and possibly wearing balaclavas, then dragged him out of his car before assaulting him.
They robbed him of a case containing the jewellery and fled towards Speirs Wharf in a dark green car, which may have been a Rover 4-series.
Officers said the man suffered minor injuries but has been left "traumatised and badly shaken" by the robbery.
Police said they are carrying out extensive inquiries and are currently studying CCTV footage.
No descriptions of the suspects are available at this stage but police believe there were either three or four men involved.
Detective Sergeant John Semple, of Maryhill police office, urged anyone with information to come forward.
