Jessica Simpson has said she is single

Jessica: I'm single and flirty

Jessica Simpson has declared herself "flirtatious and single".

The Dukes Of Hazzard star denied rumours she and The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan are dating, insisting they are just good friends and enjoy making music together.

Jessica told E! news: "Billy is a dear, dear friend of mine - if I am going through a hard time I definitely would talk to Billy, he always has the best words."

The blonde beauty, who recently revealed she and American footballer ex-boyfriend Tony Romo are still friends and she still checks out his "cute butt" in uniform, said: "I'm single. I am OK being single. I'm flirtatious and single."

Corgan recently blasted John Mayer for calling ex-girlfriend Jessica "sexual napalm" in an interview with Playboy magazine and said he thinks Mayer is "trying to destroy his career".

Jessica laughed: "He said that? Billy is a loyal friend - a very loyal friend. And that's nice to have these days."

The singer-and-actress admitted she was "disappointed" by Mayer's comments, but insisted: "I'm stronger than ever... So bring it on, everybody!"

Jessica turns 30 in July and revealed: "I'll definitely have a big blow-out and party like crazy, that's for sure. It's the big 3-0. You have to."
