Teenagers arrested over man's murder

Two teenagers were arrested over the murder of a man who confronted two robbers, Scotland Yard said.

Sukhwinder Singh, 31, died from a stab wound to the heart after he confronted two men in Barking, east London, at about 7pm on Friday January 8.

He was attacked after chasing the men when he witnessed them rob a 28-year-old woman of her handbag as she walked home from Barking station.

The teenagers arrested were being held at an east London police station, Scotland Yard said.

Three other men arrested by police on January 13 were released on bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Singh, of Harts Lane in Barking, died in the Royal London Hospital after the incident in Uphall Road.
