Boys to be sentenced for gang rape

Nine schoolboy rapists are due to be sentenced for carrying out an attack on a 14-year-old girl.

The boys, some as young as 13 when they gang-raped their victim, snatched her from the street before marching her to a flat in Hackney, east London, on April 30 last year.

One 16-year-old ordered that she should be put through the ordeal for allegedly insulting their leader's girlfriend, London's Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

The terrified victim was then led to another address nearby, where she was raped.

Six of the teenagers were variously convicted by a jury of 13 counts of rape, kidnap and false imprisonment.

Three others admitted their involvement.

A court order prevents any of them being identified.
