Teenager charged over gang stabbing

A teenager has been charged in connection with the murder of a man stabbed after a confrontation with a gang, Scotland Yard said.

Adnan Patel, 21, was stabbed in the chest in east London on July 10.

A 16-year-old male from East Ham, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear on bail at Waltham Forest Youth Court on November 26 accused of murder.

Police said Mr Patel was stabbed in Stewart Road, Leyton, but then managed to drive his Ford Focus a short distance before crashing into a parked vehicle.

Paramedics were called after Mr Patel got out of his car and collapsed on the pavement but he died at the scene.

Four men have already been charged with Mr Patel's murder.

They are remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on January 10, 2009.
